all network users disappeared after server update

after updating to server 4.03 all my (network)users disappeared and i can not add any new ones (there is a little lock icon) and the dialog to add network users does not accept my normal admin credentials. also my groups are all gone and there is a new DeprecatedProfileManagerAccessGroup...

what is going on? is there any chance to get my users and groups back?
